PTM Western Cape was a blessing as it had rained the entire night in Lambert’s Bay and when we woke, the clouds had finished dumping on us so we rode out to Clanwilliam in beautiful conditions.
The route quickly got far more exciting as we continued along the Pakhuis Pass and then dropped south to Wupperthal and the gnarley 4×4 track up and over the top of the Cederberg mountains to Eselbank.
I attempted to see the waterfall but possibly a bit of local knowledge is required to view it from the best angle?
Heading down the mountain Danny Mulder buggered off at a proper rate of knots leaving me in his dust before a welcome lunch stop at the Cederberg Oasis and their very cold beer brought the shenanigans to a controlled halt!
From there we continued on toward Ceres via the lekker Gydo pass and then up into Tulbagh and our rest stop for the next two nights, Montpellier Wine Estate.
